Went to ophthalmologist; can they detect problems with headaches/brain tumors?

Tonight I went to a ophthalmologist. She checked my vision and everything is fine; I can see fine out of my glasses and I'm gonna get fitted for contacts & my prescription is only going to be changed slightly. Afterwards, I told her about my constant headaches. I told her I'm on the computer a lot. She said that might do the trick. I despribed them to her and told her my worst ones are one of those "stabbing" headaches that last for only 3 seconds. She said those might be the cause of dry eyes, so she gave me an over the counter eye drops. So after my visit, should I be relieved that there's nothing wrong with my head that's causing my headaches? I know ophthalmologist can detect tumors and such & she did a very good examination of my eyes (extremely long). Also, she did say if they continue, I should see a family doctor. So, I'm sorta afraid that it could be something else. I don't know - comments...anything?!?!

If its not a tight neck... it could be tons of things. I was worried about the same thing at one time and i knew listings of what it could be other than a tumour helps.

There is...

Sore Hair follicules(sp)....

Cluster Headaches (rsearch it... itl describe and may be applicable)

Not enough sleep has caused a few people i know to have sudden headaches that last for lik 3-10 seconds.

If your sleeping schedule changes alot

like bed at 9 then up at 6, next day bed at 11 up at 7 exc. will screw up your head and cause that.

Well the general rule is that headaches alone are a very unusual presentation of a brain tumor.  Generally there are other symptoms and yes the eye exam would have picked up a swollen optic nerve.

Good luck. try not to worry unless other symptoms show up.
