YES!! Lots of anxiety! It's been rampant lately and I thought that may have something to do with it but I wasn't sure once he said colitis because the med. websites say that colitis isn't brought on by stress (although can result in more symptoms). I still don't think I have colitis, maybe he said that generically (sp?) as, I may have an inflamed colon - that I could believe. I don't have the bloody stools that is a common symptom.
Have you ever had anxiety, or panic attacks, I have those symptoms with anxiety. It very bad at times. I have had every test there is, all comes back anxiety.
Ever thing you have mention is a symptom of anxiety.
Good luck
No, he basically just said it as we were on our way out the door, like no big deal....I don't have bloody stools, I don't hardly have stools! :-) He told me to take Correctal for a while and then see him again in 3 weeks. I guess I should not be overly concerned, maybe he just said it as a generic term meaning I had some "colon issues".
colonitus is found mainly in animals so it seems on the web, but also says its a bacteria which is caused by puppies or poultry. I dont know anything else about it at all. Colitis is inflammatory bowel disease, a bit like what I have...crohns disease. It is where the colon is inflammed causing ulcers on the stomach lining, stomach pain, bleeding with runny stools. If your doctor told you what it was did he say why you have it or give you anything to take for it???? Hope you feel better soon.
colonitis and colitis are the same thing. Colitis is the proper term.
"Col" is medical terminology for colon
"itis" is swelling.
If you google "colitis" you'll get a plethera of information.
ulcerative colitis, pseumembranous colitis, c diff colitis, they all have basically the same symptoms. but they may need to do a fecal sample/culture. sometimes require, not always colonoscopy. symptoms, mucopurulent feces and with eunny stools. lower abdominal pain. the bug that causes i=this is clostridium difficile sometimes associated with taking antibiotics. nonetheless, have a gastrologist take a closer look at you.
Colonitus I thought...hmm...when I do try to search though all I can find is colitis...what is colotis?
