Concerned,

Just would like to know if I would have to wait to see my PCP, or if I should go to the ER? The pain is escalating as is the swelling, some tingling/numbness in the left side of face and left side of tongue.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you see your PCP immediately then yes go, otherwise go to the ER. A hemi-facial swelling that is growing fast and is painful can be due to an abscess, under the skin infection, a dental infection, severe maxillary sinusitis or due to a blocked salivary duct.
Hence it is important to consult both your dentist and PCP, and you may also need an ENT consult. Take care!

Hi there -

I will move your post to a more appropriate forum, but I wanted to suggest that if you have swelling and you have tingling and numbness in your face, it might be a good idea to go to an ER if you can't get into your PCP promptly.

Best wishes,
Emily
