I know when I have a cold. I can just feel it coming and I know how it feels to have it. Last Wednesday I felt unwell, but like a cold, I had a splitting headache and had hot and cold flushes. My Mum, who's a Nurse, thought it was Hay-fever because I started feeling unwell when the pollen count was high, however the Hay-fever medicine has had no affect whatsoever, and I have been taking them regularly and as many as they allow, I have also used nasal spray. As of last Saturday the hot and cold flushes decreased and the headaches disappeared (without use of painkillers). But I started coughing up a storm and I couldn't stop. It is completely involuntary. I can't sleep properly at night, stayed up until 5 once and then got up at 10, next night went to bed early at 9 but didn't get to sleep until 3 and got up at 12, etc. Last night I went to sleep at about 2 and got up at 8. I still get the hot and cold flushes occasionally. I seem to have lost a lot of my appetite, which isn't good at all because I get very shaky when I don't eat enough glucose. My main problem is the coughing, though.
Other medical conditions: Lactose-intolerant, and Hypermobil (ligaments further apart so I have a lot of back pain).
Medication: I tend not to take painkillers and just take the back pain (and moan about it), so no, other than the Hay-fever tablets I've been taking, no medication. I don't smoke, never have, don't drink and haven't been at school so haven't been overstressed.
