Uneasy bowel movement....

Blood on tissue when I  wipe and in the toilet after on and off constipation for 5 months. Only got more noticeable yesterday as used to just be spotting infrequently. Painful to pass but not as much as it used to be. Could I just have torn something after bad constipation on holiday to Maldives 5 months ago and can I treat this at home? Not painful just stings like a cut

Thanks to u both... It is a concern that I've never had problems before the honeymoon...yuck if that was the cause!! My husband also had issues on the holiday but like me it passed when we got home. I'll call my doc on Monday, can't hurt for the opinion as they do phone consultations before asking ppl to come in. I've tried increasing fibre intake/water etc so I tried! I'll ask what pharmacy product to try if it's the best idea, you're right there's a million of them!

I would go to the pharmacy and buy Preparation H or something similar. When the painful pass/bloody tissue comes around, just try that. There are also many other products you can try. If no resolution, however, notify your physician.

You really should see a doctor, just to rule out anything serious. Most likely it's hemorrhoids, but don't risk it. My grandma is in the last few days or weeks of her life because she ignored blood and bloody stools for years. Also even if it's just hemorrhoids you really shouldn't be having such a problem with constipation and your doctor needs to be aware that this is a frequent thing and has been since you traveled abroad. (Is it possible you picked up a parasite or something.)
