False positive on urine tests

I have been going to a pain clinic for at least 10 years. For over a year I have been getting false positives on my urine tests. This really upsets me because now they call me in at unscheduled times to retest. I am bed bound and we've been paying a transport company to pick me up for these visits. The doctor keeps asking me "why do YOU think it's
Showing HIGH ON YOUR TESTS FOR ALCOHOL". I don't drink anything at all. When ive told him I'm diabetic, I had been taking the recommended dose of Zzquel, I told him but he said my tests were to high. The same with the antiseptic so I use so I really don't know..  I have had two doctors run blood tests on me and both times they showed completely negative for alcohol. Does anyone know anything else that could cause a high score for alcohol in the urine test but negative (0)on my blood tests.

Hi Jemma, I'm Jana! I don't get on here a whole lot but I saw your post and I remembered something I saw on TV recently where a guy got pulled over and had to do a breathalyzer test and he blew way over the legal limit, even though he didn't drink at all! There were no doctors that could figure out what was wrong with him! Come to find out, he ended up having an over production of yeast (it was basically like fermented wine in his blood stream) and it was making him appear to be drunk and showing up in his bloodwork! Just thought I would let you know, just in case it could be helpful! Hope things get better for you soon! God Bless

Is the doctor doing a specific urine test to check for alcohol?

The other thing I can think of is that the urine sample may be contaminated.
It needs to be a mid stream sample that is caught in a sterile container and placed into the sterile urine sample bottle.  The sample should be sent off for analysis to the laboratory as soon a possible on the same day it was done.  The urine dip stick tests are pretty good, but the laboratory analysis on a urine sample is more accurate.

I would go with the results of the blood test.  I presume this was to check your liver function.
