Well, since Lyme is known to flare up after a big stress like surgery, it could very well mean that your Lyme and Bartonella treatment was insufficient and you still have both of them. Lyme can cause some permanent nerve damage and permanent arthritic damage, but you shouldn't be having pain all over or ongoing Bartonella symptoms.
Was your previous LLMD associated with ILADS? I think you need to go to a different LLMD. Someone who has had Lyme with a coinfection for 12 years could easily need 1 1/2 to 2 years of treatment.
Yes I have had lymes for 12 years but finally my llmd said that they are pretty sure I had killed the Lyme off and that was a year ago I'm still in constant pain though all over my body. But the leg pain was more intense and after my surgery that's why I thought it was more with that. I also did have that bartenella coinfection and they think I got rid of that to. I will definitely go to the Lyme forum and be apart of that. so u think maybe bc of the surgery that I'm having a bad Lyme flare up and it isn't quit gone yet? Do u have Lyme? Oh and I took intravenous antibiotics for about 6 months but was taking probiotics and other support supplements. Thanks again for your input and understanding :)
Notice that your profile says that you have had Lyme Disease. Have you been treated? How long did you take antibiotics?
Lyme is known to infect the Gallbladder, as well as cause migrating joint and muscle pain. With Lyme, symptoms van be vague and mysterious and they can come and go. Many times, it mimics an autoimmune disorder. It can also mess with the gut in other ways, resulting in food sensitivities, such as to gluten and diary. There is also a coinfection that sometimes comes along with it called Bartonella. When both are present, it can make the neuro and GI symptoms of Lyme worse.
Lyme is not well understood and there is a big conflict in the medical community about it. Some doctors say 28 days of abx always cures it, and ongoing symptoms are caused by something else, perhaps your own immune system. Other doctors take a broader view and say the ongoing symptoms usually represent an ongoing infection. We patients call these doctors "LLMDs," or Lyme Literate Medical Doctors. They are willing to continue to treat a Lyme patient until both patient and doctor are convinced the infection has resolved.
Please come post on the Lyme Disease forum where you can get multiple perspectives and suggestions. You deserve to get your life and health back!
Ok I will do that Jackie thank you so much for the information:)the pain isnt easing up so i think I will go have that check up!:)
You need to make sure...the bile is not leaking ...out.... I suggest you go back to the Surgeon who removed your gall bladder and Ask him to give you a complete check up.... Then again its only been 7 days - Usually after the 2nd week you should be feeling better....But Don't Delay if you are worried.....
Thank you for the information. I do have this pain in my lower back kinda in my butt tail bone area all a sudden and the pain in my legs is the worst. I do stay away from gluten already but not 100% so I will try to be better. I do get numbness in the right side of my face and sometimes in my lower limbs and I get shaky on the inside of my body if that makes sense. I also get nausiated. Thank you for being so kind and writing me back.
I wonder if you have a food sensitivity that has gone undetected. You might do some research into Celiac Disease and other food sensitivities to see if any of it sounds familiar. You might try to change your diet (not too much at once, so you can figure out what the problem is). I suggest going gluten free to see if you notice any improvement. You will have to give it at least a week or two, preferably a month.
Do you have any other symptoms?
