Funny feeling in chest, extra heartbeats, and more!

Im a healthy 21 year old female with a problem that nobody can figure out.  I keep getting dismissed by every doctor i go to. Ive had an echocardiogram and blood work and everything was fine. Im not sure if all my symptoms are related but i will list them all

-  a funny feeling in my chest, im not really sure how to explain it but its constant.  It first started a year n a half ago before i got pregnant with my second child. it lasted for about 2-3 months, went away for the entire pregnancy, then returned 2 months after i gave birth, stayed for 2-3 months, went away for 1 month and now its back again. Whe it came back after the pregnancy somebody suggusted i start taking vitamins and i did and it went away bout 3 days after that , however i continued to take the vitamins and it came right back.  I wish i could explain it better then it just feels weird  but it feels like i need to completely empty my lungs , maybe kinda like a full feeling in my chest??

- extra heartbeats, ive had about a handful of these my life but recently ive had several episodes where when i lie on my left side i will start to get these extra beats.  I get about one extra beat every 15-30 seconds, some so hard they make me jump, and it lasts several hours.

- a constant dull pain in my upper left side of my back

- sharp shooting pains in my shoulder occasionally  usually lasts a few minutes

- and 3 or 4 times ive had a vibrating like sensation in my chest that lasts a few minutes

- at night or whenever im tired i get really nautious, this started about 3 years ago

Any Ideas ??

People I worked out what is wrong with us,nothing,it is related to electrical imbalance in our body that is affecting every aspect of our life.
I assume you all wonder why,and answer is the food our daily. We eat gmo,ane hormone fead food that is affecting electrical charges and discharges. You all need to change diets. You need to know what food you are eating, and doing that dont drink more nor less than 8 cups a water, and drink it slowly, sip it so to speak and take gas mineral water occasionally,no artificial sugar, less salt.

I have had these symptoms as well. I went to several medical doctors, internist and a pulmonary doctor and they were ignoring what I was telling them about my symptoms. I was constantly being told that as long as the EKG was fine, there was nothing to worry about. I was not satisfied with the answers I was getting I knew I was not feeling right.

I went to see a cardiologist. They listened to my symptoms I was discribing and he gave me a stress test, he did another EKG with a more sensitive machine than what my other doctors had, and he also gave me an echocardiogram. when the results came back he told me everything seemed ok but I may have an extra heart beat according to the stress test but it may be nothing. the cardiologist said lets just make sure it is nothing and he hooked me up to a holter monitor for 24 hours.

I was glad he did. I finally found out what was going on. I do have PVC (premature ventricular contraction) but there are different types and some are nothing to worry about but some you need to be careful of because they can cause problems and need medications like betablockers or other medication. Mine was more serious and the cardiologist put me on medication. He told me I have to change my lifestyle (reduce stress) and my diet (no caffine, sugars and other things that can make my heart race).

If your not satisfied with the answers you are getting please go see a cardiologist. I'm so glad I listened to myself because I knew something was not right inside.

I've been getting thos extra beats as well.  Went to see a cardiologist many times and nothing came up.  Not that it is a bad thing, but I really hate to have those feelings.   I wanted to ask if anyone has ever had more than 1 extra beat at one time?  I sometimes get a prolonged kinda feeling. like it lasts longer.  The cardiologist said I had something like 4 extra beats at one point.  He asked if I ever felt like going to pass out or fainted, anyone died at young age...  I know they have to ask those quetiions. but kinda scary.  Please let me know guys.. thanks a bunch

OMG, i am 22 yrs old, overweight and tryin 2 get it off, i am glad i founf this page i feel like its support cause i have the same extra hearbeats too, specially when i lay down sometimes i even sit up and jump cuz its such a scary feelin. ive been to the er and the docs just say its very normal and its probably just anxiety. but ive noticed on myself that the extra beats happen when i drink caffeine, a food thats got to much sodium, or when i dont excersice much, i usually walk or jog about half hour everyday. and they also happen for a long time when i get one and then i start panicking and i feel like my heart is goin to stop or something. i am glad i found this page, i just feel supported and i know im not the only one with the scary beats.

I was having the same thing almost all of last year.  the worst ones (i also found out on my own) were from the brand of birth control that i was taking. my dr ran all kinds of test and then tried to prescribe me Lexapro for anxiety.  i knew that it wasn't anxiety b/c i would not be anxious about anything. would just be sitting at  my desk at work when they would occur. I could have had a bit of anxiety but only because the palpiations would make me nervous. I quit taking the birth control and the PVCs went away. My Gyn doctor put me on another brand of birth control. I still have PVCs occasionally but i believe it's when I drink too much tea for days and my magnesium possibly gets low.

I don't know if you have been tested for your thyroid - but ask your doctor about hyperthyroid and graves disease (thyroid).  Some of your symptoms sound like graves disease which I have and am in the process of being treated for.  God Bless  -  tina459

I've had extra beats for years (61 years old) and they're usually 'sharp'...I've 'tamed' the beats with Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine)...heart is a muscle, use a muscle relaxer...apparently the 'arrhythmia meds' can be very dangerous so try the muscle relaxer and chase it with a Prilosec to quell the anxiety acid your producing !

OMG!!!  I have the exact same feeling with my heart. It comes out of nowhere...it feels like my heart does a couple of fast beats and i catch my breath, it scares the hell of out me. You described it perfectly, like how your stomach feels on a rollercoaster, but its your heart. I on the other hand is extremely anxious, i constantly fear having heart poblems, that i notice every little thing

I'm so incredibly happy to see that other people have the same symptoms as me. I'm 21 Female (unlikes you guys I am over wait) but I have the same exact symptoms. And like all of you my ******* doctor has blown it off as anxiety and panic disorder also. I absolutely know it my heart it can't be that though because I'm NOT freaking anxious when it happens. I have the weird feeling in my chest ... I'd describe it as a bounce like when your stomach drops but in your chest, like when you're on a roller coaster, and it seems to be directly connected to my breathing too, although I don't know how. Aside from that I'm also exactly the same with the sun. I can't STAND being hot, it makes me dizzy, and feel like I'm going to pass out. I've never passed out in my life but it feels like i'm going to and in some cases things start to turn black and I lose hearing like someone else said. I've never fallen though. Excercise is the same... I force myself to do it but it causes my body to just go berserk, I've been excersizing about 2 years now and generally try to jog a mile a day along with some weight training. But it makes me SOOOOOO dizzy.

I'm a 27y/o male 6'0 180lbs I have almost insactly the same symtoms as you..I've been to the ER a few times thinking my heart is about to give out on me.. after some tests the doctor said everything looks normal.. and that I had a panic attack. the thing is that, if I do have a panic disorder.. i think it was brought on by what ever that weird feeling is that I seem to keep on getting in my chest under the sternum area and right above the heart.. it's like an empty awkward, sometimes warm (in an unwanted way) almost indescribable feeling. Also, i can't seem to work out or do the things I use to  do easily because my heart starts beating out of my chest and then my head starts getting very dizzy and disoriented, almost like i'm about to black out.. I've learned how to stay calm during the almost constant panic attacks but that feeling that I think is the cause of them, keeps coming and is completely out of my control.. I strongly feel that It's not something associated the the panic attack, but rather, something that makes me have the attacks... that feeling makes my heart feel very weak and sometimes even skips beats- very scary.. anyone with any information or who can offer some help are more then welcome to email me at ***@****.. sounds funny but I also have a my space page that you can find by using the email addr. I feel very isolated about this particular part of my life.. up until this my life was pretty normal.. now I can't even go out with friends or have a good time like I use to.

Hi,
I am 45 and have been having all the symptoms that you have for the last 2 years and have been told that it is all due to the change of life. My GP also make me feel that I am making it all up as they never seem to find anything wrong. What I want to know is, if there is nothing wrong, why do I feel like this all the time.  Let me know if you find a cure please.

Wow, I am a 26 year old female. 5'5 124 lbs and I am experiencing the same exact symptoms. I don't so much have the extra heartbeats anymore, but i have all the rest of the symptoms.  Originally the dr.'s thought i had all kinds of things, but now they just say it is either anxiety or acid reflux. Usually, my chest will hurt where my heart is, then i get pains in my neck, back and arm.  I go to the hospital and they say i am fine and it's all in my head. Everytime I have an episode, i have a panic attack. I didn't even know what one was until I got sick.  Now I have them almost daily because I am so worried about this ailment.  I see we all seem to be the same age, perhaps it is all something we are doing.

If the doctors can't figure it out, why dont we do some research ourselves. I know that I cannot go through this anymore. It will seriously drive me crazy.

I am a 26 y.o. female and had same problems among others and realized on my own that it was caused by my birth control that I was on.  I still have them from time to time (heart palpitations) but nothing compared to the daily "episodes" that I used to have.  Some may say that aspartame can cause it too and well I personally believe that it is possible.  (aspartame is found in artificial sweetners, ie: crystal light, sweet n low, diet pop, etc)  I hope this helps.
