tired/overwhelmed

Hello, I need help figuring out what is wrong with me.  Let me just tell you about me, my family

history, and my symptoms and see if you have ideas.

My history:
* female
* 34 years old
* diagnosed with mono in Oct 2005
* tested and shown to be over mono in Jan/Feb 2006
* stay-at-home mom
* two children (6 and 7) with no major depression issues after childbirth

My family history:
* auto-immune issues (paternal grandmother)
* fibromyalgia (paternal grandmother)
* manic depression (maternal grandfather)

My symptoms (pretty much since mono):
* chronically tired with good days/week in between
* exhausted/overhelmed after "good spell"
* short fuse/little patience with everything
* aching joints/muscles
* mentally foggy
* overwhelmed by the prospect/thought of projects/doing something beyond the routine of day-to-day
* heart racing off and on throughout the day
* negative thoughts/guilt over the whole situation (of my health)
* vertigo/dizziness from sudden movements
* lack of initiative/not a outgoing as before (almost different personality)
* feeling disconnected from life
* swollen lymphnodes/glands in neck

I went to a family doctor and she drew my blood, but we haven't gotten results yet and I'm not even sure

what she was testing for.  Any suggestions/things to try would be helpful.  I'm at a complete loss.

Thank you.

its sounds to me like you may have bipolar disorder seeing as though you go through manic like episodes and then feel down afterward some of your symptoms are like mine and im bipolar it also sound like you have some anxiety going on to you should speak to your doc to see what they think because they have great meds that could really help you i know how hard it is to live with both anxiety and bipolar worring about everything can really make you depressed.. good luck

I am not a doctor...but some of your symptoms sound like depression and anxiety issues.  I was post-partem after my first child and didn't know it until I "snapped out of it."  Knowing what the signs are helps.  You should google depression and take one of the on-line quizzes - I think you will be surprised at the results based on your information.

I have been on medication for the past 5 years.  At times I have thought I no longer needed it - because I felt "fine".  When going off the meds, I quickly discovered WHY I was doing fine.  :)
It is nothing to be ashamed of and you will be amazed how much better you feel.

Did you talk to your doctor about the feelings above?  I am surprised she didn't mention it.....
