HELP, PAIN AND NUMBNESS

I have pain and itching (like a nerve) in my buttocks, low back, hip and groin.  It is relieved in the morning and slowly gets worse as the day goes on.  My concern is I am also having vaginal wall numbness with this and at times can't pee.  The pain also improves after BM.  I do not have a UTI.  I have a six month old and wondered aout prolapse.  Any suggestions helpful.

Thank you for the comments.  I do take B vits and also have hypothyroid secondary to treatment for Graves Dz.  My thryoid levels were good 8 weeks PP, but I am going to check them again this week.  I also wondered about autoimmune dz since I have had Graves in the past.  I do not drink (regularly) and do not have DM.  I have seen a Dr. and had an KUB xray which was negative.  He thought maybe IBS, but I don't think so.  I will keep you posted.  I really appreciate all of your advise.

Hello,

This feeling of numbness that you are having are called Paresthesia. Chronic paresthesia indicates a problem with the functioning of neurons.

Are you a diabetic or do you take alcohol?Parasthesias are common in alcoholics and metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypoparathyroidismThey can also be due to peripheral vascular disease, vitamin B12 deficiency or malnutrition.

Get your blood sugar and thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the tingling is gone or not.

In case the symptoms persist then pls consult a neurologist as it can be due to some neurological disorder. Common disorders causing paraesthesias are rheumatoid arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome transient ischemic attack, motor neurone disease, or autoimmune disorders like multiple sclerosis or lupus erythematosus. A diagnostic evaluation by a doctor is necessary to rule these out.

Treatment will depend on the diagnosis.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any additional queries.
