Help Please? Unusual Fatigue?

12 days ago I was eating potato chips. Bit one on my back bottom molar which has a large cavity in it and felt a brief shooting pain that went from the tooth into the gums. The next day, felt intense pain like a stabbing, burning, swollen sensation in the left jaw and muscles and the back of my gums, although there was never any actual swelling, redness or inflammation-just the feeling of it. After a lot of ice and ibuprofen, I went to the dentist 2 days ago. There was no signs of abscess or infection on the x rays and no signs of inflammation. The tooth itself still does not hurt. The morning when going to the dentist, the pain finally started to recede but upon waking up in the morning my body felt very weak and tired. Even after getting about 7 hours of sleep last night ( waking up about three times), even with no more jaw pain, my body is still tired. It's as if it feels like it's still responding to the intense jaw pain even though the pain is gone. Is this because after 9 days of pain and interrupted sleep, my body is experiencing some sort of release? No headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath or anything else. Again, no signs of infection on x rays. I just feel like laying down and going to sleep, but it's hard to actually fall asleep. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Intense dental pain can set up a vaso-vagal reaction. Eat healthy, drink plenty of fluids, and rest for a day or two. In all probability you should recover. If you do not, then you need to consult a doctor, and find the cause.
Often dental cavities harbor germs that can affect the heart and joints. Hence this possibility will need to be ruled out.
Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!

Well, I think you maybe bruised your nerve or tooth without breaking it. A lot of the time after many days of pain you will become fatigued and also days of lack of sleep. Try to catch up on some ZZZ's.
