Not sure what it is.... HELP

A month ago I woke up with very sore breasts.  I got really nauseous, had lots of burping, was constantly dry heaving, extreme fatigue and hungry every morning for 2 weeks.  I never usually eat breakfast (since I just graduated from University), however I could not last a morning without eating something.

After 2 weeks of that, my period finally came but it was a dark brown and only became red on day 5.  Doctor said it is probably an intestine issue - as it can cause those problems.  So I was off the pill for the week when I was on my period and the symptoms subsided.  I've been back on the pill for a week now and the symptoms are back.  I have a constant dull pain in my left pelvic region and in my right abdomen.......

Any ideas as to what is going on?  Doctor gave me stuff for the nausea and for the burping, but it doesn't seem to do a whole lot.  HELP!!

Good grief, I clicked the wrong button and lost my response!! Grrrr!!!  Anyhoo...It was a crazy time in my life, I couldn't believe it when that doctor told me that I was pregnant, not just a little pregnant...quite pregnant! I did send you a private message...but, my little girl was okay. The docs did watch her a bit more closely because of being on the pill. She is now a relatively healthy 15 year old, typical teenager. Incidentally, my mom also got pregnant on the pill, she said that she used it as directed too. Wierd I know....makes me think. I am glad that you are going to the doctor's...at least you will have an answer as far as being pregnant or not. If you aren't, I wonder if it is hormonal. Keeping you in my thoughts..Sunny :)

Wow - that is crazy!!  Thanks for that.  I do realize that you can get pregnant on the pill - thus 99% of the time we do use condoms as well.  I might just go and get a test cause it seems that everything is relating to pregnancy...... I have also made an appointment with my doctor.

I agree..get a pregnancy test to rule that out. I will tell you that I was one of a few people to get pregnant on the pill (despite taking it as directed). I did not even suspect pregnancy, I was still getting light periods and had no morning sickness...there was no reason for me to suspect a pregnancy. About 4 months into the pregnancy (from what I calculated..I still wasn't aware that I was pregnant) , I had my routine anual pap and exam. The NP said every thing was okay and that I had a small uterus. No pregnancy detected even then (I am not kidding, she said that I had a small uterus, to this day I have no clue as to what anatomical structure she was feeling). About a month after the exam, I felt something...a fluttering sensation. Mind you I was still getting a monthly period. At this time, I suspected something was up and went to an OB GYN to confirm the pregnancy. An ultrasound was done as well as an exam (the test was positive as well), it was determined that I was 22 weeks along!!! I was barely showing at the time..I thought that I was around 2 or 3 months at the very most along, not over 5 months! I nearly fell off of the table...what did bother me was the fact that the pregancy was missed during my routine pelvic exam, it should have been picked up.
So that's my story, I know of others who have went through similar ordeals. I hope that you get answers soon. Sunny

The pill is not a sure-fire a way of preventing pregnancy.  In fact, the incidence of getting pregnant while on the pill is about 5%, which in my opinion is very high.  In many cases, women who do get pregnant may not realize this is the case until several months into the pregnancy because they still get, what they think is, their "period" as a direct result of taking the pill (some people who arent on the pill bleed once a month when pregnant too). I highly recommend you take a home pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.  (BTW: dizziness is another symptom of pregnancy )

No pregnancy has not been ruled out - I just kind of assumed that I was not, since I had a period - or what I thought was one.  I have also been getting dizzy a lot lately.....

I've been on the pill for 6 years now.

Obvious question here - has pregnancy been ruled out?  It is possible (although unlikely) to get pregnant while on the pill.  The  following symptoms are typically experienced during early pregnancy:

nausea, sore breats, fatigue, hunger, pelvic pain.

To be honest with you, I dont see how sore breasts are related to an intestine issue - it sounds more like this could be a gynocological problem.

Another option is it could be related to you taking the pill.  How long have you been on it for?  If your symptoms persist for another few days go back to your doctor and ask if a referal to an OBGYN might be appropriate.
