Nausea, coughing, mild aching pain

So for the past 2 weeks or so, I have had some mild, throbbing pain in my body - specifically my groin, my chest, my clavicles, the back of my neck, my lower back, and my head.  It usually goes away after 5-20 minutes, sometimes longer.  I just moved into a new appartment with my girlfriend three weeks ago, and had to carry a lot of heavy packages, so I might have pulled something, but I am not sure.

Also, starting about 2 weeks ago, I now get nauseous whenever I take the tram or train, or travel in a car, though this never used to happen.  Further, in the past week I've often become nauseous and gotten headaches when exposed to direct sunlight for too long.  I used to have this problem as a small child (until I was about 10), but since then it hasn't been a problem, until now.

Finally, for the past 2 months or so, I have occasionally (maybe 1-2 times a week) started coughing for no apparent reason, though it is almost always mild, except this one time when I woke up coughing in the middle of the night.

I have a history of anxiety and hypochondria, though the anxiety isn't really present at this time in my life.  Obviously, given all the symptoms, I am worried about my health.  Does this sound like anything suspicious?  What might it all be?  My crazy mind is telling me that I have progressed into advanced stages of cancer without even knowing it, though my left brain is telling me that's highly unlikely.  I have an appointment with my GP, but the last time I met her for eczema, coughing and aching, she said to take things one at a time and focused on the eczema on my hands (turns out it was probably caused by dry skin), and I am worried it will take several appointments to get through all the symptoms.  Is there a specific direction I should be looking in?

Oh, and the lymph nodes in my throat feel slightly swollen, though I can't notice a difference in shape when I touch them.  And my right forearm also feels swollen, though again, no difference in appearance or feel to the touch.

Today I got a sore throat, and a runny nose as well, and I am more tired than usual.  My mother seems to think this is likely a flu, worsened by sunstroke, exhaustion (starting in April I've often had to get up at 5:30 in the morning to get to class at university, and only come home at around 7 or 8 at night), and over-exertion during the move.  Is it possible that a flu could cause nausea and pain for a few weeks without causing a fever or a runny nose in all that time?

Thanks for your advice.  I always have trouble believing that there are psychological causes for the symptoms, because I don't feel consciously stressed of anxious, except regarding my symptoms (which arrived before my anxiety).  It's certainly possible, though; I used to suffer depressions and social shyness, and I had a bout of fasciculations about six months ago which a neurologist suggested was the result of stress, even though I felt no stress at the time.

What worries me most of all is the pain.  The coughing has got better since I started seeing my girlfriend in this apartment block 3 months ago (which was when the coughing started).  The nausea, well, it mostly appears in conjunction with bright sunlight or vehicular travel, which both used to make me nauseous when I was a child.

The pain, however, is what really worries me, because I am not used to having pain.  The only things I know that can cause widespread pain like this is stress (and I don't feel any stress, nor can I easily imagine how stress causes pain) or advanced cancer; I'm sure there are plenty of other things, for instance I've read a bit about fibromyalgia, but for some reason I am fixated on cancer.  What I need most of all is some kind of reassurance that it isn't cancer or something deadly.  I don't know what to do; I'll be having a permanent panick attack from here until my doctor's appointment in two weeks, and I'd really like some peace of mind so I can get on with my life without constantly expecting it to suddenly end.

I will post more after the doctor's meeting, hopefully.  Tanks for taking the time to read!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The new home could be the cause of sudden symptoms. There is a possibility of dampness, mold, yeast, old ACC or even pet dander in the neighborhood. All these can start an allergic reaction which can be causing cough. Try and eliminate these causes of allergic reactions. The nausea could be due to ear involvement. Nausea can also be due to anxiety and acidity. Hence take an antacid and see.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I suffer from anxiety and hypochondria have much of my life but had it in control til 2 yrs ago when i started focusing on every detail, which we do if we have anxiety. I have multiple symptoms i wont list and have been unable to work. They cannot find anything and i hope its jus anxiety or something minor, but part of me keeps telling me its worse..usually i am right. If your doctor tells you to focus on one thing at a time and they usually do. Tell her/him your biggest concerns. Dont focus on dry skin. I just started coming to this site..had no idea there were others like me that have a undiagnosis  or problems with such sever anxiety. I have given up on for a year now on doctors cept a natural path and accupuncture , but my want for health and wellness and to go back to work has set in and so there for i want answers. Next weeK I start my journey again. Sometimes you yourself has to ask for specific tests. I personaly if i find out this is all mental i have wasted so much time doing nothing, aging for the past 2 yrs i will never forgive myself. Good luck to you. I think if it was cancer the signs would have started slower, but I am no doctor and  i hope you find the answers. Also, another consideration is that you moved into a new place with your girlfriend which could cause stress even if its a good stress. My symptoms started 2 yrs ago, one month after moving in with my byfriend. Maybe its coincidence.
