Numbness. detailed info. intresting need help.
24 yr old M. healthy Same weight for last 2-3 years.
In June 07, I developed a bad sore throat drip got some Zertec. A couple days later I developed tingling-numbness on my head. The numbness, settled in on my left face area. I have had it now for over a year. It’s not completely numb, and I have full strength in my face, eyes, ect. No dropping. Feels like a very slight numbness-dry skin. It is very annoying and disabling. The areas of numbness are my LEFT cheek, L side of nose, L temple area, and above the L ear. Wearing sunglasses helps, and dulls the weird feeling allot! This never awakes me in the middle of the night. I also have notice that my left wrist had the same feeling, though could be from my computer job at work. The wrist numbness is only on my palm side in a very small area where the arm meets the hands, by the veins. It’s on and off. Do not know if it is related. DO not have TMJ. I have had a sinus CT scan, fine. I have had a brain MRI, and MRA with the dye, which came out normal. I am just mentioning these other maybe normal life symptoms in case they may be related. The only other symptom I notice is that I get hot easily and have occasionally various body muscle 2 sec spasms, which most people have. The wirst numbess comes and goes, and I did start to notice it after I injured my left wrist benching very, very heavy weights. Related or not, just wanted to mention. Also around time of initaly symptoms, had a 800 lb tractor land on my back, whole back black and blue neck n back pain for a month.
I don’t suspect MS What about lyme, or? I live in Pittsburgh, PA, and am outside ALOT.
I go to a chiropractor, and my spine is very good. I do have 2 small sublexions in my upper neck, which could be related I don’t know. What about a cervical disk lesion? One doc, says trigeminal neurology, but I thought that TN was stabbing harsh pains? Is there a form of Trig Neurol is just a constant dull?

I agree with the MRI and CT scan, which would exclude the major neurological and sinus causes.
You can consider MS, but a negative MRI would make it less likely.
Testing for Lyme should be considered, as well as diabetes, thyroid dysfunction and B12 deficiency.
A neurology evaluation is needed, preferably at a major academic medical center.
