PCOS or NONCLASSICAL CAH

I'm so confussed. My doctor always wrote my diagnose as PCOS,but a few days ago i came across nonclassical CAH and the symptoms pretty much match with those of PCOS.
My FSH/LH ratio is 1:3, Estradiol sometimes is normal sometimes low, Testosterone, Androstenedione and 17 OH PROGESTERONE are high, Cortizol,SHBG, DHEA-S, T3, T4, TSHI are normal, ACTH is below normal range.
I quit going to doctors for PCOS because i hate pills,i wanted to go for the natural treatments. But what am i suppose to do if i have nonclassical CAH?
Please help me diagnose this!

Nonclassical CAH may be clinically indistinguishable from PCOS as you have found out.

I suggest you do make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your concerns with him.

You do not say what pills you are taking, and I presume that these are for PCOS.  My daughter has PCOS and does not take any medications for this.

A programme called Embarrassing Bodies discussed PCOS some time ago and the thing with this is to have a healthy and well balanced diet.  Keep off processed foods, sugary and junk foods, this will include cakes, biscuits, white bread, fizzy drinks.  Eat more fruit and veg, fish and white meats and drink plenty of water so as not to get dehydrated.

If you do decide to start a family, because you have been diagnosed as having PCOS, it is highly likely that you would need to have help with getting pregnant.

Don't stress and worry about things, speak to your doctor.

Hi nittaa.

For any form of CAH, both your parents should be carriers ( both have abnormal  alleles of the CYP21A gene) , I think.
And your chance of getting the disease, would be 25%.
The way to diagnose Late Onset CAH is to verify your genotype to establish heterozygous specicifity for this allele, by direct genetic sequencing and also by measuring 17-hydroxyprogesterone elevation after a stim cosyntropin test.
Treatment is limited to lowering andogen production and reducing its effects and to stimulate ovulation.
You'll need a holistic practitioner to help you with this.
Look into 23and me website for general genetic testing (inexpensive but no  analysis) and go from there.

Hope this helps.
