You may have diverticular disease, internal haemorrhoids, fissure or fistula.
So it is not just cancer that can give you the symptoms of bleeding with bowel movements.
This is why it is important to have a check up to find out what exactly is the problem so that it can be treated.
I understand your concerns because I have had a similar problem for a few weeks with a lot of blood, even dripping into the toilet pan and uncomfortable sensations, but was too frightened and embarrassed to get checked out.
Last night I experienced a lot of pain in my belly like a rod pulling down and today when a lot of blood came out, I got shocked into making an appointment straight away with my doctor. He examined me and could see that I have a fissure so he has prescribed me with pessaries and an ointment. I am to see him next week to see if things have improved, if not I will be referred to a specialist. So I feel a bit anxious hoping that things will heal without having to be referred.
Try and stay calm and not panic unduly (easier said than done I know). There is not point in worrying and getting anxious. You have done the right thing and I admire you for having the courage to go straight away to get a proper examination. Only then will you know the correct diagnosis and the appropriate treatment.
Let me know how you get on.
Hope you will be OK
Best wishes.
I had same symptoms. First bloody stools for 2 days and the second day I had a sharp pain in the lower left abdomen. I was totally scared because I couldn't move but pain went away after 5 minutes so I forgot about it. A week later, I mentioned that to my cardiologist because he was touching that area and was painful and he told me it could be diverticulitis and ask me if I notified my general doctor about these problems and I didn't. I'm going to see my general practice doctor this week and mention this and let you know what he says. In my case, it happened also after my vacation, after I was driving for 24 hours so could be than being seated for that long in a car could have triggered something.
if you haven't ever had you period it just might be that cramps sometimes they come way before your period and then you will get it
