Looking for opinions

Over the past week or so I've been pretty miserable, and looking for some advice.

When I was younger, I used to smoke marijuana off and on, but have long since given it up, especially when I became pregnant a few years ago, and haven't touched it since.  Until a week ago; a friend of mine had some, my husband was watching my daughter, and I figured, "why not".

That was a huge mistake. I immediately became very dizzy and nauseous, and I was like that for most of the night.  Serves me right of course, learned my lesson.  The next day was the same.  Very dizzy, nauseous, loud ringing in my ears, and just an all around unpleasant time.  That lasted two days; I really didn't eat much of anything aside from the occasional Pepto-chewable for the stomach.

It's about a week later.  I'm actually eating somewhat again, but I still have this really loud ringing in my ears, and I'm occasionally fighting nausea still off and on, plus I have a constant mild headache.  I also feel rather tired all the time.  No fever though; my temp is actually a little lower than normal by a couple degrees.  I've had the occasional ringing in the ears but not like this, much louder than I've ever had, and it just won't go away.

Any thoughts or suggestions?  I'm about ready to get to a doctor if this persists.  I was wondering if maybe it's just a case of coincidence, namely maybe I just caught some sort of "stomach bug"?  Or could it be something more serious?

Thanks.

As usual, Drknee has come up with excellent input.

While I am not an advocate or weed, except insofar to say it should be legalized, your problems are unlikely to be due to inhalation.

At least you have the problem nailed down.

Ear infections can be a bear to clear up.

You're absolutely right.  Turns out it was a fluke.. just really bad timing/coincidence.

The condition got worse to the point where I was having trouble standing up.  Severe dizzyness, nausea something ugly, the works.  After a week or two of that I finally caved and went to the emergency room.  (I'm not a fan of going to the doctor :D)

Apparently I had a pretty bad case of an inner ear infection.  I had no idea; I've never had this before, no idea how I got it, and truth be told I hope I never do again... it was downright horrible.  It's about a month later and I'm just now *starting* to get over this.  I lost about 20 pounds from not eating, the dizzyness was so bad I couldn't barely get up at times, all in all a downright miserable experience.  I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.  The night I smoked that I apparently had my first real bad symptoms of the infection at the same time.  It not only turned me off of smoking that ever again, but at the worst points I was praying for death.. it was that bad.

I'm actually eating again, the dizzyness is more or less gone, and starting to eat again, somewhat.  My ears are still ringing, I think I'm borderline insane now from it heh.. but it's starting to ease up; from what I read it could last a few weeks to months, fun fun.  Next time I catch something, I hope it's something "simple" like a cold or shoot even pneumonia.. at least it's over quicker.

Please tell me you are kidding.  I have the answer for you:  THAT WAS NOT MARIJUANA.  There is no way any kind of marijuana can do that.  I get high and have been for years and I have tried the best of the best and it doesn't  do anything close  to that.  I have had my pot mixed with PCP and cocaine (without me knowing).  And that seriously messed me up.  That is my guess.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The existing condition is always a possibility; I've had similar reactions like this way back when, just never lasted as long.  (Chalked it up to over indulgence and felt better the next day.)

I've had ringing in the ears before too, but not so persistent :D  Usually lasted a couple hours (typically along with a migraine and/or "facial numbness") and went away later.. this is going on a week and it's driving me absolutely buggy.  Haven't considered low blood pressure either; I'll have to look into that as well.

Thanks

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
This cannot be due to marijuana side effect as you only took it once after a long time. If symptoms are persisting you should get a check up. Low blood pressure is a possibility. However if you had episodes of tinnitus or ringing in the ear, Marijuana will only worsen it. You can read more about the causes of tinnitus on: http://stason.org/TULARC/health/body/tinnitus-ringing-ears/4-What-causes-tinnitus.html
It looks like the episode of marijuana triggered an existing problem. In a way it is good. Now you will be able to get a diagnosis.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
