Puffy eye

What would cause one eye to become puffy? I woke up this morning with a puffy eye. It looks so strange. It's not a bug bite. Could it be an allergy? I can't figure out why I would have one puffy eye! Anybody have an idea?

Thank you so much for answering! I've had this happen once or twice before and it's just kind of strange because the puffiness is in the inside corner of my eye lid and makes it droop down into my eye, so it looks and feels strange, lol. Oh well, within a day it should be gone, I guess.  I was just wondering what caused it. Thanks again!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Puffiness of one eye is usually due to a localized cause like infection, abrasion of cornea, foreign body in eye, maxillary sinusitis of same side, lacrimal gland infection, infection of hair follicle of the eye lid etc. Consult an eye specialist soon.
For a detailed list you can check out this link: http://en.diagnosispro.com/differential_diagnosis-for/unilateral-puffy-eyelid-edema/35765-154.html
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
