Purpura...advice please!!

I have what I thought might be dry skin patches on my leg but having looked closer, they're more like small red bruises (about 1 cm in size)...there's four. I was going to wait a while longer to see whether they go but I think they might be Purpura and apparently you should get those checked out asap - can anyone tell me what they might be? C I'm starting to panic a bit! I have something that I think may be ringworm on my arm but not sure if thats relevant and some red raised patches around my hips that I think may just be dry skin. I take 125mcg thyroxine a day and am on the pill if any of that's relevant... Also sorry if i'm being a total hypochondriac but i've had swellings under my armpits before (although not right now) and my knees joints are very stiff (but I think that's running) I read those and these bruise things can be a sign of Leukemia..

I would definitely talk to a dr. Because if you do have ringworm-that's very contagious and it will spread to other parts of your body. If it's patchy dry skin, maybe you need to get your thyroid levels tested again. I know that 99% of my eczema has cleared up since taking thyroxine.

As far as the bruises go- bruises on the back of your legs a little odd. It's really hard to get a bruise back there unless you sat on something odd very hard or you fell down on your butt. Still unless those actions had a lot of force, you shouldn't be bruising that easily. So see a dr, but try to be calm. Not all easy bruising is leukemia.

Most likely these would turn out to be schamberg's purpura(not serious).

Thanks so much for the responses! GP wasn't sure what was on my legs but has referred me to a dermatologist having done a full blood work (issues were: high TSH, slightly low MRV and slightly high Rheumatoid factor)....none of which would really explain rash!  Prescribed cream for ring worm but no noticeable change on my arm.. leg patches seem pretty constant, except one which seems to have grown and had a baby (another much smaller red mark just next to it).

hmm, ring worm patches look like dry skin with a ring looking around it, under the arm pitts can actually be sists sometimes its just multiple things. if u have continuouse out of controle hair growth around the vag and any other place with irritation and maby even lumps in the arteries on thie wrists u should talk o ur doctor about checking for sists on the ovaries . common condition and may theres really no way to fix it... a good indication is a lot of in grown hairs and iritation
