I am not sure about b12 vitamins helping. Usually, steroids are prescribed and it MAY take a while for this to resolve though. Treatment is pretty limited.
So hope this resolves quickly for you dear.
Sorry for a late response to all, but I did end up going to hospital and it was infact bells palsy. They told me I should be glad because the nerve damage isnt bad. I could close my eye (more than other people could) my issue is my eyebrow which wont go completly up which is driving me NUTS!!!...the doctor proscribed steroids which im on now...I've heard taking things like b-12 viatamins work too..is that true? Other than that i've been told to relax without any stress nd pray for a full recovery...thank you guys for caring <3 it means alot...I'll keep u guys posted :)
Totally agree with Caregiver222. You shouldn't be posting here to figure out what this could be; you should be HEADING to an ER.
This could be Bell's or something viral, however, let the ER sort this out for you.
Let us know how things are going AFTER an ER visit.
Let's go to square one. It may or may not be Bell's Palsy. You need an IMMEDIATE trip to an emergency room, preferably a stroke center. That means as of yesterday. Think general quarters when the battleship is under attack. There is a possibility you are experiencing a stroke and there is a limited window of opportunity to prevent lifelong damage. It may not be a stroke, but there is no percentage in playing Russian roulette. You need an evaluation by a neurologist in an ER. Not an "appointment"..
It does sound a lot like Bell's Palsy. There are multiple reasons for it, but in some cases, they don't know what's causing it. Perhaps a virus? It often goes away on its own. If you have any other symptoms, you'll definitely want to see a doctor.
That sounds to me like I think its called Ball Palsey..I had a friend that had those same symptons, on one side of her face only..
The Exact same thing happened to me once, but over time it cleared up, but the only thing that stayed was the locked jaw. It feels as if it's almost permanently locked or something, but what happen to me was that I had a Oral Relief over-dose because my tongue had 3 sores on it, and it was bothering the mess out of me and I kept constantly spraying on it until one day I noticed while putting on lip gloss that I couldn't move half of my face, and I think that was the problem because I had sprayed the oral relief on that side of my mouth. Otherwise, I have no idea what was wrong with me, unless that was the symptoms of a wisdom tooth coming in, because as soon as that half of my face was paralyzed, a wisdom tooth came in. But then again, I'm not sure cause I already had one I didn't have to go through all of what I just said. I don't know if this answer helped, but I thought maybe it would comfort you a little to know that someone else has been through the same and that they made it out perfectly fine. :)
Let me start off my asking you a couple questions: when you smile does one side of your face droop? Does you eye resist shutting when you blink?.. I am wondering if you are suffering from Bells Palsy which is an inflammation in the nerves that control your facial muscles... The onset of this is rapid which would explain you not having this last night but waking up with it this morning..You can google it if you want to see a complete list of symptoms.. You might also want to get checked out but don't panic and convince yourself that you had a stroke.. I would highly recommend going to the doctors even if you just go to like an urgent care.. best of luck and keep me updated
