Same old problems...

Hi.
I was hospitalized last year, and no one figured out after a million tests what my problem was, and the symptoms are back.
I have really bad pains in both of my hands and sometimes other joints. When I am not paying attention my hands fold up weird. I have nausea, fatigue, and diarrhea as well. Ten years ago, when I was 19, I saw an orthapediic surgeon for back problems, and he told me that I had the "bone structure of a 60 year old women". He put me on Celebrex and something else, but I stopped taking them after they were causing people problems. I was also diagnosed with GERD and IBS when I was 17. I also have a pain sometimes in my lower right abdomen, but it is not my appendix according to two different emergency rooms that I was in last June and July.
I also have multiple allergies, and was getting a horrible rash on my face and neck that looks like whiteheads. After a suggestion, I stopped eating gluetin, which made it go away. Sometimes I mess up and have a piece of cake and it will come back. I still get the large cystic acne. They have put me on heavy duty antibiotic creams/gels/pills and steroids.
I used to go to the gym everyday, but now I can barely go around the block.
I also have been diagnosed with chronic depression, which none of this helps.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well, joint pains with rash can be seen in SLE, psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, polymayalgia rheumatica and chronic fatigue syndrome. Gout, though typically affects the great toe, can cause multiple joint pain with rash. Hashimotos Thyroiditis is another possibility. Hayfever and rheumatoid arthritis too should also be ruled out. Crohn’s disease is another possibility.
Another possibility is reactive arthritis, which could have occurred in reaction to something—in this case rash. In this case you need to rule out the cause for the hives or urticaria. Urticaria is usually triggered by allergens, such as drugs, foods, insect bites, inhaled substances, in response to sunlight, cold, heat, stress, exercise, or a viral infection. Other common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, or cosmetics. Food allergies like to gluten and alcohol too should be looked into. You may need to consult an allergy specialist.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!
