Parathryoid? I'm just not right!

Over the past several years, I have lost who I am. Im irritated easily, tired all the time, bad night sweats, feel like I am literally going crazy, I can't think straight, I make bad decisions, I'm bitchy and crankyl.  Not like me at all. I'm losing everyone who cared about me. I need help!!!    My Dr. started to treat the symptoms...depression,premenopausal,sleepng pills, low dose estrogen, high blood pressure. But I am still not right, but can't put my finger on it. I've done research on the internet and came up with parathyroid. I strongly believe this is what's wrong with me, but my calcium levels are always "In the normal range". I've read on parathyroid.com that a small percentage of people are hard to diagnose. My calcium goes from 9.0 up to 10.0, down to 9.3, back up to 10.0 From what I read, that is not normal either. But no one listens to me.   Can anyone out there help me????

I know exactly what you are mean! Get a copy of your tests and research what thyroid levels are really normal ( not what most labs say) I had to go to 5 diffarent doctors (including 3 endocrinologists) and get 5 diffarent tests before one came back in what they are allowed to say is not normal. I still have a lot of health problems so I think there is something else to. I just keep going to diffarent docs and now I am goin gover all my records and tests and seeing all the NOT normal results they never told me about! And trying to figure out what is wrong. I tried 3 endocrinologists, they all did diffarent tests than the other yet none will do the tests that I look up for the symptoms I have! Just keep on keeping on dear!

Thanks for the info.   Since my Dr. thought it may be perimenopausal, wouldn't it be an automatic for a complete hormone assessment?  My symptoms are very bad and I see no end in site.  When my Dr. found I had HBP she said, "Why  would you have HBP, it makes no sense?"  Maybe there is an underlying reason for it?

I feel like just my symptoms are being treated, and the real cause is not being looked into.  I went from no meds, to a handful of meds in about 3 yrs. I hate taking pills and will avoid if I can.

Thyroid problems are in my family, my Dr. knows this. My mother has Graves disease, my oldest sister has hyper and my next oldest sister has Hashimotos. She seems to have a lot of physical and mental issues now and they are missing a diagnosis. They are now not sure it's hashimotos and looking deeper.   I get a blood test for thryroid every year, they come out normal. But I don't know if shes ordering all the right tests.???
(I know that Parathryroid and Thyroid have nothing in common)

I have an appointment with an endocrinologist, hoping he may see something in all my symptoms and blood work that my Dr. doesn't.   I feel like I am going out of my mind and my body is suddenly aging quickly. If this is just perimenopausal...will I have all these terrible symptoms, affecting my entire way of life,  for many years?  There is something wrong with me and I can't live my life like this.  What type of specialists do I see?

I have been very active and healthy my whole life. I feel reduced to rubble now.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!

I assume you are 42 years old. At this age you must get a complete hormone assessment done. Hormone replacement therapy should help you. You can try food rich in estrogen. These help you become your normal self by increasing the estrogen in your body. The list is available at: http://dogtorj.net/id46.html

High blood pressure does make one irritable and cranky. If this is the case you must run a complete battery of tests to know the cause. In case these tests are normal then it’s a case of essential hypertension.

It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. However I do not think it is parathyroid problem. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
