Severe thigh cramps followed by horrible bruising.

I am writing this post about my dad. I cant handle seeing him in pain anymore. He gets severe cramps in his thighs where he cant walk or hardly move. Recently he has been having them so bad that both thighs were bruised horribly. I work in health care and I have never seen anything like this. He has been to the doctor several times, they did blood work, his potassium levels came back fine. They have done several things, but obviously not enough. my dad is a very stubborn man. He is 58 years old. He doesn't deserve this, he is such an amazing person and I hate seeing him in this much pain. He is a little overweight but not by much. He is a welder and he works in the heat. like today it was 102 out and he was in the heat welding, he has done it for 35 years, he says the heat doesn't bother him. He drinks plenty of fluids and has been drinking plenty of electrolytes. The doctor can't seem to help him, so I am willing  to take any advice I can get. Absolutely anything would help. Is their a specialist he can see? Anything please! I really appreciate  any responses.

family and yourself. Please spread the word. Everyone needs to be on Magnesium. People that are so stressed out, having panic attacks, even those diagnosed as Bipolar are related to Mg deficiency. I'm a recently retired RN and I was not aware of how important Magnesium is to everyone's health.
Good luck to you and your Dad. Wish you all well.

His work causes him to sweat a lot and so he loses electrolytes and also Magnesium. I know a lot of people who gets cramps but not as bad as the way you described his. Magnesium is a supplement that not everyone is aware of. I used to take Mg (in my multi vits) and I thought that was good enough- wrong.
In the media, they always advertise Calcium and Vit D, but rarely say much about Mg. Actually, its a mineral that 94 % of the population is short of. There are many different kinds of Mg. I take Mg Glycinate as per directions on the bottle. I also add transdermal Mg..(Mg spray) to speed up building it in my system. This could help your Dad. They are available on line and on Amazon, read their reviews. It will also help to search You Tube for Magnesium Deficiency. You will learn about your Dad's symptoms, even some others that you did not mention here. It will be a blessing for you and your family to learn about it and use it. I have put my whole family, friends on Magnesium. Better sleep, less anxiety, lesser body aches and pains, treatment for leg cramps, treat most pain, protects from unstable blood sugar, helps control blood pressure, prevent hear attacks, it relaxes the muscles including heart muscles. Magnesium is involved in 300 body ezyme processes, so lack of it will cause hundreds of symptoms. So, educate yourself for the good of your f

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Unexplained bruising preceded by cramps should be investigated. Anemia and deficiency of vitamins C, K, B12, or folic acid are the common causes of easy bruisability. Ask your father to try taking iron tablets and multivitamins for some days and see if the symptoms improve. Other causes include SLE, bone marrow disorders, liver diseases or leukemias Anti-clotting (anti-coagulants) medication also can cause increased bruising.
You should get your father evaluated from a physician.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
