Scared

I received oral from a female prostitute about 2 1/2 weeks ago.Now I have mild back pain and a little tightness around my throat, but not sure if I have swollen glands. I've been nervous about having a hiv it's driving me crazy...it was only a one time thing. Could I be hiv positive? I really need help

I'm sorry to hear you feel scared. It's not possible to transmit HIV through saliva (like sharing a drinking cup), but it can be transmitted through blood, cuts, or the exchange of reproductive body fluids. But HIV is not the only sexually transmitted disease that can be transmitted between people, so it is good self care to learn about how to protect yourself in sexual contact. I'm not a doctor, but have worked in HIV public health education. You've taken a good first step by asking for help here, and now the best thing for yourself is to go to a HIV clinic and get tested. There are free, anonymous clinics all around the world with individuals staffed to counsel, test and talk through your concerns. You aren't alone, but you have to chose to just take the brave step to ask for help and it's there. A simple google search or anonymous call Planned Parenthood can help you find a free anonymous clinic nearby. You can also learn how to better protect yourself in the future. All the best.
