Tested positive for CHLMADIA PNEUMONIA

Recently i went for a BIVALENT CHLAMYDIA TEST which reported negative for chlamydia trachomatis  but positive for chlamydia pneumonia?

What should i do now?

So, you are saying your last test was a year after exposure. If that is the case and you haven't had unprotected sex since then you should not have to be tested unless you have another new exposure.

I tested 9 times after 3.5 months of exposure upto 1 year.

Hi, I looked at the test method you mentioned and since C. pneumoniae doesn't cause genital infections I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi, normally C. pneumoniae is found in respiratory infections and causes bronchitis and walking pneumonia. C. trachomatis is found in genital specimens and causes STD's. I'm trying to find the reason they have both tests in one since they are from different site. I'll get back to you. The only thing I can think of is it came from oral sex and someone had it in their throat and gave it to you? Otherwise, I need to find out what the purpose of having C. pneumo and C. trachomatis on the same test. what kind of specimen did you give them?
