Tightness in arm

I often have a feeling as if someone is squeezing my right arm.  I did mow the lawn yesterday and am wondering if it could be a muscle thing?  Any ideas?

Hi, this is the first time that I see this forum, I have the same feeling in my right arm; I had it since I was very young and for some years I just decided to deal with it but I got to the point where I want to know the reason and if is something that I should be to concerned about.

Thank-you for your help.  I do take naps whenever possible, sometimes even at work on my lunch break.  It laso takes me a long time to come to when some one wakes me.  I can hear them, just cannot seem to get my eyes open.  From what I have read about CFS, could be a never ending battle.  You know, to be honest, my dad died of non-hodgekins lymphoba at 53.  He always took naps and my Mom said his only symptom was fatigue.  I know that is what I am worried about.  However, I have had all kinds of blood work and am sure that would show up.  I haven't dared mention it but it is bothering me.

Oh you poor thing, its no wonder you're concerned, I'm so sorry about you dad!
From what i've heard you have to be checked specifically for things, that unless you're on an "E.R. Or HOUSE" episode, lab's have to know what they're looking for. (But that just was something told to me, I could be wrong.) I know it must be frightening to ask for specific tests, but it IS reasonable to ask. I think it would be more frightening to not know and wonder. When you had the other tests, did your doc know about your father? If they knew about family illnesses they probably DID check you, but there's nothing wrong with asking or retesting, just for piece of mind. Do think about seeing a doctor again, K, if anything they may tell you what's causing all you're fatigue & sleepiness! :( Take care and let me know how you're doing, K!!!

Hey Angel,
Sorry the allergy stuff isn't working. :(
DO get your thyroid checked for sure. Also do a search on CFS, and also Mono & EBV. Another thing that helps is listing out your symp's on paper, they take us more seriously that way (for some reason.) If you can, (I know you have to be active with kids and job, but IF you can manage) try not to fight sleep, like if you feel so tired that all you can do is sleep or lay down, do it. I fought Mono & EBV for 3 years, and it just made it worse that I didn't sleep when my body wanted too, (which was 24/7) Now (with other prob's) when I can I'll lay down, or just sit and close my eyes, it doesn't keep me from being sleepy, but fighting it actually makes it worse.
Still stumped about the arm (Your's and mine.) :/ Sorry
It's NOT all in your head, keep us posted!

No, actually it is in my upper arm and feels like it is being squeezed.  Any ideas?

Also, The Dr is having me take 1 antihistamine a day thinking the tiredness and throat issue could be allergies.  I have had this going on over a year and the antihistamine is doing nothing.

Frankly, I am getting very discouraged.  I am an active mother and teacher and can barely stay awake.  My throat feels like something is stuck in it every time I swallow and all the Dr. did was check my glands.  At an earlier appointment she said my thyroid may be slightly enlarged and she said my TSH factors were a bit low but nothing to be concerned about.  Someone suggested I do a temp check before getting up and it is like between 98. 1 and 98.3 so a little low.  Now I am wondering thyroid. I really need answers and am getting none.  I think she thinks it

Does the tightness in your arm feel like your blood flow is restricted - particularly your wrist?

Thanks for responding.  My doctor thinks the throat issue and fatigue could be allergy related so I am trying an antihistamine for 2 weeks.  Hope that is it.  I guess the arm is muscular and I will be seeing a rheumatologist in October so he may have more answers.  Just plain tired of being tired!

I eat pretty well.  I just had my first day back teaching PE.  At lunch, I was so tired, i had to nap(couldn't keep my eyes open).  i am so tired of being tired.  My neck and shoulders constantly are sore and there feels like something is stuck in my throat everytime I swallow.  I am an active person and i just want something done. I think my doctor thinks it is all in my head but I made an appointment to see her tomorrow about the throat and arm and tiredness.  I can't wait till October to take care of this  If anyone else out there has similar symptoms, please let me know!!!  The arm is better today but comes and goes.  Thanks for your response.

I did goo to a DR. and had a cbc and she found my ANA level was elevated 180 and referred me to a rheumotologist.  I went to her in June and my appointment is not until October 12. (Canadian socialized medical care).  I am a PE teacher who, accept for this forum, never complains about my health and am always on the go.  However,  I am heading back to school next week and concerned about the arm, my neck which is alwaays stiff and sore and the feeling evertime I swallow that something is in my throat.  These are daily issues along with always being tired and sometimes having a terrible time waking up.  This waiting for October is not fun and I am hoping for any suggestions from this forum on diet or someone have may have experienced similar symptoms.  Any help anyone can give regarding what to do in the meantime, would be appreciated?

Sorry you have to wait till October, I hate that! I would get your thyroid checked as well. And maybe do a search on CFS, CFIDS, FMS, & Lyme. Could it be a pulled muscle? Plus, (I always ask this) are you drinking/eating anything that has artificial sweeteners like Aspartame, succrolose, acelfame-K, etc? Don't assume its not an ingredient in something, they put these poisons in lots of things like water, vitamins, OTC med's, & even in toothpaste.

I'm curious if you've had your BP taken on your right arm, because I could barely stand it when I had that sensation in my right arm, made that squeezing/pulling painful. It finally went away after 4 months and I never could figure out what it was, if you ever find out what it is, let me know, k.

Hi, Did you read Platletgal's suggestions about getting tested for Lyme & CFS? I just remembered your post last month because I had the same sensations in my right arm (lasted several months and coincided with many other symptoms.) No one could tell me what it was, but everyone including me were more concerned with other symp's I was/am having. You said before that you are dealing with Chronic Fatigue, are you still? Does your doctor have any ideas?
