Unexplained Diarrhea

Hi, I am going on a week of being sick and no one knows what it is.  It started out with a 101.4 fever, massive chills and body aches, nausea and headache.  I was given an IV w something for pain and nausea.  I started to feel better a day later, but it was super short-lived.  That same night everything seemed to be returning along with green stools.  The next morning the fever was gone, however I had green diarrhea all day that day and the next onto today....I returned to the doctor and was given more anti nausea meds, an antibiotic for three days and anti-diarrhea.  I am drinking pedialyte just to keep up.  I still have a headache and my stomach is still gurgling like there is a thunderstorm going on in there.  I can not eat or drink anything without having to run to the bathroom. And I sometimes get  random pains in my left side.  I have eaten normal solid food and still have diarrhea no matter what.  Please help...I have today and tomorrow left on my antibiotic(ciprofloxacn)...after that I don't know what else to do.  Does any one know what this could be?  How long can ths last?  Could it be something more serious?  What can I do to get my stools back to normal? :(

It could be that the ciproflox had killed off all the friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract. Try some yogurt that has live cultures in it. Most any yogurt on the market now will probably work well. There are also tablets on the market that will re-populate your gut with the good guys. Best of luck to you.

I t could be a virus , and also what about allergy, is it possible you are allergic to a food by the way anti biotics also have a side effect of diarreha and may be exacerbating the problem

I would ask your dr for a colonoscopy.  It sounds to me like trouble in your intestines.  You didn't say how old you are.  Some problems affect dfferent age groups.
