anal cancer symptoms

Well, recently I have been extreme gas problems and heaviness in the anal area.  I have read about the causes and symptoms of anal cancer and it indicates some of my stymptoms.  However, I am not a smoker, do not have HPV that I know of and have not had other types of sex.  Yet, I read that I could still have anal cancer?  I am worried sick.  I read that anal cancer goes undetected for years sometimes.  Is that true?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Gas and pressure in the anal area can be due to IBS, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis or due to any food intolerance. In anal cancer usually there is accompanying bowel disturbance too. But yes, please get this investigated.
Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Unfortunatly that is true, but don't worry, it can be treated!  Make sure to get to your GP and have the requisite tests done (CEA, etc) I hope your tests come back negative!

Keep in touch - my wife passed away from rectal and intestinal cancer, lots of horror stories about that to beware of
