What could effect spleen and liver w/o showing up in blood work?

Okay, So my spleen is 20 cm on ultrasound && my liver is "prominent in size && difficult to to penetrate with acoustic beam evidence of diffuse fatty infiltration" but my cholesterol, triglycerides && everything else is normal. I had a bone marrow biopsy Friday. If nothing comes up in that, my Hematologist is sending me to a liver specialist. If that too is inconclusive then I will just have my spleen removed. So, I am wondering if any of you know of something that would effect the spleen && liver but not show up in any of the piles of blood work being done?? All of my bodily "filters" are malfunctioning. I haven't had a gall bladder for 3 years. My organs are going crazy and I am running out of "spare" parts.  So, If there is some off the wall disease/parasite/whatever behind all of this I would love to at least be able to ask my doctor about it before I let go of my spleen. Because then, if that were the case, it would really only have vital organs to attack.

Thanks!! Is the threat of parasitic infections like malaria && Kala-azar a serious threat to Americans?? That may sound like a small minded "Can that really happen here" kind of question, but you don't hear of it much in the States && I have never been outside the country.

Hi!
Malaria, tuberculosis, kala-azar, uncontrolled rheumatoid arthritis, hemolytic anemias and viral infections like Hepatitis C can cause both iver and spleen to enlarge.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
