Why am I jittery, weak, & shaky in my chest area? Food does not help.

I have been feeling "jittery" or what I used to call "dizzy" on and off throughout my day my entire life.
I am 29 now, but got diagnosed with anemia and hypoglycemia at 19. I took iron pills for a while, and my jittery feeling got a lot better. My low blood sugar was pretty good too, especially if I ate a good, healthy meal.
In December, I started taking Cymbalta for depression. It has helped me SO much, but I suffer from EXTREME dry mouth/thirst as a side effect. On top of that, I am back to feeling extremely jittery and food no longer helps subside it.
I thought it was my low iron and blood sugar, so I got it tested. My blood sugar is totally normal (averages 90-99 fasting and a few hours after eating), but my iron was really low (10.2 HGB). I started taking iron again thinking it would save me from this horrible jittery feeling. My doctor decided to see where my blood levels were at again along with testing my thyroid. EVERYTHING is normal. My iron levels are great and my thyroid is totally fine as well. The ONLY thing I can think of being an issue is side effects from Cymbalta.
It is just unbearable. The only way I can explain the feeling is that it is like I drank multiple cups of coffee on an empty stomach. Just so shaky, foggy, and overall crappy.

Does anyone have any insight or suggestions? Thank you!

Hello~I am so sorry you are having these awful feelings. I have had them at times, they are awful. I did a Google search on the side effects of the Cymbalta. Here is what I found:
The most common side effects of Cymbalta are:

•Nausea.
•Dry mouth.
•Sleepiness.
•Fatigue.
•Constipation.
•Loss of appetite.
•Sweating.
There seems to be other strange side-effects as well. One thing I did notice, it is dangerous to stop it cold-turkey as those side-effects can be horrendous.

I would call both your pharmacist and physician and tell them what is going on, maybe you need a lower dose, or to wean off of it slowly and then try something else.

I hope things get better for you soon. God bless you.
