Why do I get hot when I am in pain??

I had a hip replacement with complications. I have independent bone growth. I am the first person to have my pelvis that was shattered put together with 4 plates and 19 screws in 1987.  I have severe pain and when I do my body gets very over heated. I AM SO HOT it is terrible.  Why is this happening and what can I do to help it?

A lot of joint problems come with inflammation.  Inflammation causes pain and heat.

If you have not got back to your doctor or been referred back to the specialist who did the operation, then you should do so.  It is likely that either something has not healed properly or you may have new bone damage due to arthritic changes.

Keep a record of your symptoms and when these get worse, so that you can avoid any situations that aggravate and make the pain and the heat worse.  You may benefit from applying a cold compress to reduce the swelling and heat.

Your doctor or specialist would give you advice with regard to pain management and anti-inflammatory drugs.  Anti-inflammatory drugs do not suit everyone and also need to be taken after food or stomach medicines like omeprazole, to help protect the stomach.

No doubt you will be offered imaging tests like xrays or other imaging to evaluate your problem and you may be offered a pain relief injection into the area if this was deemed that it could help.

Don't suffer - seek help from your doctor or specialist.

Best wishes.

As pain increases, heart rate and therefore blood pressure increases as well.  Have you ever had thyroid studies done, any weight loss recently unexplained, Does the heat intolerance occur at any other times?  What I'm getting at is a possible hyperthyroid state.  Intolerance to heat, weight loss that is unexplained, irritability, fast heart rate, etc., all occur with being hyperthyroid.

Possibly because your heart rate increases and also your blood pressure.
