Why do I have a lump right in the middle of my sternum?

I have had upper abdominal pain for some weeks, it even wakes me up...I have now discovered a lump the size of a golf ball right in the middle of my ribs or sternum, what is it?

Is the lump hard or soft and is it attached to your skin inside? It could be a  tumor (can be benign or not). You have to get it checked by a doctor especially since you are having pain. They need a CT scan or MRI. I hope it is benign. It is possible it is a lipoma (benign fatty lump) that is putting pressure on a sensitive area. I hope that is all it is but you need to see a doctor right away.

I would suggest booking an appointment with a doctor and get it checked out
