aching lymph glands

I have had a swelling on back of neck (right side) for over a year, I have bee to see my GP on three occasions and they have said they think it is my spine. recently it has been aching regularly, and the lymph glands on right side of neck ache although are not enlarged. I also get painful lypmh glands in right armpit. I also have been getting right sided breast pain and a pain in my ribs. I do have a small breast lump which I am going to see my GP about.

I find it difficult to talk to Gp as they always make me feel like I am being ridiculous. i work in Paed oncology/haem/bmt which I know makes me more paranoid. What do you think?

Thanks

I work in the same field as you (heme/onc/bmt) and there is no doubt that just working in that specialty will lead you to fear the worst. Given your background, you also know that there are a million and one other things that can cause swollen/achy lymph nodes including minor infections, allergies, and many other benign conditions. Perhaps you need to get a second opinion from someone other than your GP-- I think it would really help put your mind at ease. Also, if your labs have been normal, that should also provide some reassurance. Take care.
