Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Yes, please! Start with a gynecologist as you are in menopausal age now. Yes, mention all the past medical history as it will help your gynecologist decide the best treatment for you. Also it will help your gynic to know what drugs can be prescribed and what not. You should also mention all the medications you are taking.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Thank you so much for responding to my concerns. I just never thought my problem would be hormonal because I had a TAH in 1993 at the age of 28, and I did take estrogen on and off until diagnosed with CAD in 2001. A stent was placed in my RCA, and I have been on Plavix and various statins for the elevated cholesterol. I was taken off the estrogen then, but never ever showed any symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Could it be rearing it's ugly head out of the blue like this? I will follow-up with a gynecologist.
I also had an abdominal CT in 2007 for belly pain, (it was calcification in the pancreatic tail probably due to atheroschlerosis since I have no history of drinking alcohol or drug use). Anyway, it was noted that an adrenal adenoma was present. I was told they are usually always benign, so I never followed up. The only reason I am bringing it up now, is that you mentioned adrenal gland problems in your response. Do you think some of my symptoms could be an issue with that?
I promise I won't keep bothering you with this, but I wanted to give you more information in response to your post in case you have further advice based on this new information.
Should I start with a gynecologist, and mention the adrenal adenoma? Or, does that seems irrelevant?
Thank you again so much for helping me, it is so nice to know someone is listening.

If you are forty years plus female, I would blame your symptoms to menopause. Mood swings, blowing hot and cold and poor appetite or a disinterest in food are the ways some ladies explain their symptoms.Hormone replacement therapy should help you. You can try food rich in estrogen. The list is available at: http://dogtorj.net/id46.html
If you are a female but younger age group I would suggest a complete hormone panel including female hormones, insulin, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenals.
A gynecologist is whom you should consult first.
If you are a male then you could be having thyroid, parathyroid or adrenal gland problem.
In any age and sex group, stress, anxiety and psychological problems can be added factors.
Some more detail about you would be more helpful.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
