collagenous colitis

I am asking for my 81 yr. old mother.  Can arthritic symptoms and chronic chills go along with collagenous colitis?

Thanks so much for your input.  My mother does have Celiac disease, and she has been tested for Lupus & Crohn's disease with both coming back negative.  We will look into the GI specialist.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
IBS like symptoms, body aches and joint pains can be due to Lupus, Crohn’s disease, Celiac, or ulcerative colitis, ankylosing spondylitis, malabsorption syndromes like sprue, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Hence though collagenous colitis may not be directly associated with arthritis, it could be result of drugs taken for arthritis. Since your mother has both gut symptoms and arthritis, it would be best to rule out the above mentioned causes. Consult a GI specialist.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!

I will guess to say yes.  Colitis can effect one mildly to severe.
