Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
I agree with ErinBBC. Along with this take lactobacillus preparation to improve the gut flora and antacid gel to lessen the effect of acidity. If the symptoms persist then it could be due to intolerance to certain ingredients of the alcohol or due to IBS, or pancreatic problems. At times alcoholic liver can be a cause. Please try out these treatment options for a day or two only and if you do not get relief consult a doctor.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
thanks 4 your advice nice to see there is people out there that like to help
Hangovers are many things but predictable is never one. Depending on what you drank, the combination of different drinks you had, how much you had, and what you ate with it, sometimes you'll be fine the next day and sometimes you'll be sick 3 days later.
Bloating is a pretty common hangover symptom. A major reason behind alcohol caused bloating is the consumption of alcohol in large quantities and after a long time gap. The toxins and wheat or grain products that alcoholic beverages contain can cause the rapid loss of electrolytes from the body. The stomach tends to bloat up because of the accumulation of sulfur-bearing gases in the in the gut wall. Bloating may also be accompanied by pain and discomfort that lasts for two or more days. The toxins also cause the bloating up of the face along with swollen lips and puffy eyelids. Drinking alcoholic beverages can also impair the digestive system's ability to digest complex foods properly which further leads to the development of gas and bloating.
In the future, avoiding binge drinking will keep this from happening - not to mention binge drinking is bad for the body in tons of other ways. Also don't drink on an empty stomach as this increases the likelihood of bloating.
To help relieve symptoms drink lots of water, take over-the-counter gas products like Phazyme or Beano, make sure that even though you get out of breath you take frequent short walks (a few laps around the living room a few times a day is good), avoid bloat-inducing food and drink like broccoli, cabbage, salty foods, wheat, carbonated beverages, and of course alcohol, and soak in a warm bath with epsom salts added to it for an hour or so. .
Hope you feel better soon and keep us posted,
