Thank you for the response. I've spent a bit of time searching for anything like what I'm experiencing but haven't had any luck. I could be mistaken but the skin looks unaffected, just lacks support from beneath. Looked through a wide range of skin cancer and tissue necrosis images and it is not at all like any of that but I did get a NSAID shot in that general area 3 months ago (for pneumonia). I saw in some of the information that they can be connected to necrosis, which I'm really hoping is not the issue deep under the skin. Could be an issue with the tissue being swollen and out of whack because I carry a toddler around a lot and do all the heavy physical work for the house. I'm not particularly strong-previously displaced hip, permanently displaced vertebra, spinal spurs, hyperlordorsis-but I've never seen or heard of anything like this. I did make a DR appointment. In a little over a month- perhaps the mystery will be solved.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
A swelling in the tissues beneath the skin can cause the skin to become irregular and show dimpling on one side. It can also be due to loss of fat. Skin cancer is another cause. Extensive pressure due to something that comes in touch with the area is also a possibility.
It is difficult to diagnose on net. Please consult a skin specialist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
