Could this be something serious?

So my girlfriend is getting over a horrible sore throat, fever, all that bad stuff.

Yesterday I felt like I was getting a scratchy throat, and I though it was my acid reflux, a cold or me catching what she had.

I woke up today (Sunday) with a cough, and a terribly scratch throat. I felt like someone took a fork and scratched it over and over. Bad post nasal drip, but not green or anything. I took Mucinex, my nose spray, tums, Prilosec, Benadryl etc, but nothing is helping. My urine is also cloudy.

I don’t have a fever. I have a cough that is annoying.

Could this be a cold? Thanks!

Also, I am a hypochondriac, so please don’t be an alarmist!

I think for good ol' fashioned advice based on experiences, it's probably best to explain more of your symptoms and more of how you tried to treat it?

My guess is that it's nothing serious - I think perhaps you may be hyper focusing.  We all do it, it's ok.  I understand that you're nervous - remember that it's only been a day.

Hang in, relax - make a trip to the doctor if you have a high fever or a fever that lasts more than 24 hours... Your #1 treatment should be rest and water.

Chances are you probably got what your girlfriend had - and if she's getting over it, you will too =)

It sounds like a cold to me.  A virus or strep throat can cause cloudy urine.  You don't have white spots in the back of your throat, do you?

If nothing is working you might need to go to the dr and see what's going on. If your urine is cloudy, you might have an infection. But it might be a bug or the flu. Like I said, go to the dr and get it checked out if nothing is working.
