Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Sharp pain in the side of face could be due to injury to a nerve or pinched nerve, an infection or a trauma. Hence it could be Trigeminal neuralgia, abscess in tooth, exposed root canal, internal ear infection, maxillary sinusitis, TMJ, migraine, herpes (recurrent) without rash or fibromyalgia localized to face.
Since you have difficulty opening the mouth dental cause and TMJ should be ruled out first by a dentist.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!
YOU SHOULD DEFINATELY NEED TO GO TO A DR WHAT ABOUT A STROKE? U NEED TO BE CHECKED FOR ALL OF THAT
Go see a Docter. It is very important that you go see a Docter. It can be anything, even a toothache you don't know or realize is there or a bad tooth. But can also be a virus or other sign or symptom.maybe even beginning signs and stages of Thyroids.Or anything nueroligical.or ureoligical.Any way you need to get seen right away.Maybe you got hurt and forgot.
Ther are too many things that could be causing your signs & symptoms to 'self diagnose'. Sinus or other infection, temporomandibular joint disorder, tooth or gum abscess....I encourage you to see a Dr as soon as you can. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
