imbilica hernia

I had a imbilica hernia repaired about ten years ago. It seems to have popped out again. My belly is kind of big. Do you think if I lost weight it would not need surgery?
Please say yes.
It's kind of lumpy right above and to the right of my pretty belly button.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Abdominal fat makes repair of hernia weak and can cause recurrence. The lumpy feeling may just be fat and not hernia. So get this checked. Needless to say, losing weight will go a long way in keeping you fit. So lose weight. If there is hernia, it can only be treated surgically. Take care!
