I have had an enlarged spleen for 10 months. I have been to a hemotologist, I just seen a GI doctor. I just had blood tests done, and stool tests done. I go back to my GI doctor to get my test results. But I goggled it, and they said that if they can not find the cause of the problem. Then they will remove it. If your doctor says there is nothing that can be done, then you should get a second opinon. My spleen is 16.3 cm and the normal size is 10cm. I am in the same boat as you, I know how you are feeling. I am tired all the time as well. I also have a fatty liver. My GI doctor said that my ultrasound showed signs of viral hepititis. Keep me updated, and I will do the same with me. Godd bless you and good luck, I will be praying for you.

i had mono and i had an infected, inflamed, and enlarged liver as well as enlarged spleen. it is very likely that you either have mono or had mono but did not get diagnosed for it. i had mono back in september and am STILL always tired. if you had mono but it was never diagnosed and your spleen was enlarged due to it then it could still be enlarged. you should ask your doctor if there is some way to test your spleen for infections or reasons why its still enlarged. sometimes mono results can come up negative when positive (im not sure why but i know people it's happened to). so you may want to get rechecked for mono as well. hope this helps...
