Throbbing that causes me to rip callus off toe

Hi, I have a callus on the right big toe. I get a "throb" underneath the callus that drives me insane. I have to shave, rip, rub at the skin until I cause a significant amount of pain in the area and the "throb" goes away. It is not a regular occurrence but i probably do it twice a month minimum to maybe four times. I have drawn blood and have bought a pedicure knife to shave the skin off when it happens. I am guessing that the callus is pushing on a nerve? Not sure and wondering if there is relief that doesn't involve cutting my callus off?

you should have that checked out by a doctor.  it could be something more than just a callus.  Maybe your shoe could be aggrevating it. but tomake sure go to a foot doctor and let them x ray it to make sure.  good luck. mandy876

Hi there,

You are exactly correct that the callus is putting pressure on a sensitive area of your foot. For more information, take a peak at this website I found:
