An Endoscopy, or "scope" is when the doctor puts a very small camera down your throat and looks at the throat and stomach for abnormalities. It will show if you have a Hiatal Hernia, acid reflux or it's complexities, polyps, ulsers, etc. You are awake during the exam, but you are given a med to relax you and you won't remember a thing. It doesn't hurt, it is just a scary thing because it is unknown to you. It will give you a solid diagnoses so the doctor can give you a treatment that will work for you. good luck
Sorry, I definitely did not make my question clear!! As a medical transcriptionist, I am fully aware of what an endoscopy is, but my question was intended to be if anyone had had the same type of continued symptoms as I am having and what the problem possibly could be, of which a kind poster did suggest some possibilities, and I appreciate that wholeheartedly. I have researched on the Internet, but just can't come up with any clear answers. One further thing I did think about after my post was that BMs prior to surgery tended to be constipated which I treat with modifying the fiber in my diet, but since surgery I will be constipated for three days then have a large bm followed by diarrhea. I have noticed undigested food particles, such as vegetable material, and the diarrhea seems to float somewhat. Hopefully, I have made my concerns a bit clearer now. I would appreciate any comments whatsoever, and thank you for the previous poster's comments. I appreciate it!
