Hello karen58a -

So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband.  You may want to consult a professional psychiatrist regarding your depression.  Talk therapy or a combination of talk therapy and medication may help you get through the loss of your husband and your depression in general.

Regarding your leaky valve, have you spoken to your cardiologist?  You may want to make an appointment and explain all of your symptoms.  Or check with your GP (Family doctor - General Practitioner) explaining your vertigo, shoulder pain, night sweats, and depression.

Also, if a doctor isn't giving you what you need or if you feel that they are not taking you seriously, it is OK and important to politely speak up.  As stated above by silverfox67, that physician may have thought you needed someone to talk to and missed your other ailments.  It is also OK to ask for another Doctors opinion.

I hope this helps you.

I am so sorry that you lost your husband.  It must be a terrible blow to you.  I just can't imagine how hurt you are and how in so much pain.  I am so sorry.
The doctors probably feel that your depression is causing your symptoms and sometimes we just need to talk to someone.  The hope for the dead in the Bible might comfort you to some extent.  Just knowing that God didn't take him away and that your husband will be resurrected in a Paradise right here on earth is a comforting thought.  JWs can tell you more about this promise.
      Wishing you the best
