Hi bikerbabe90.
Please look into the following:
1. Under-regulated thyroid, despite "normal" labs. Standard seum thyroid tests TSH, T3 and T4 show only...serum levels, NOT thyoid function!!!
So to be 100% certain, you need to have Free T3, Free T4 and Reverse T3 tests
2. Undermethylation, usually linked to genteic mutations, MTHFR mutation
being one of the common ones.
A trial of SAMe (breaks down histamine), under the direction of a knowldgeable holistic practitioner might be wise. Also a starting trial dose of methylfolate and regular trial dose of methylocobalamin B12, for a few weeks, in lieu of genetic testing.
3. Adrenal fatigue. Consider to have a 4xcortisol test (saliva) for this.
4. Gluten sensitivity. Look into Cyrex labs Array #2 FYI.
Hope this helps, however, please note that my suggestions do not constitiute medical advice.
Best wishes.
Niko
Hey bikerbabe90, i m sorry to hear about your condition. Let me begin by telling you that nothing is going to happen to you and your going to be fine. So stop being scared. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 5 years ago and suffered a lot with health complications. I am 30 now and i no longer have hypothyroidism. This is what i would suggest for you:
1.I would first suggest that you visit the doctor and get your levels tested.
2. Whatever the results indicate look at it objectively and remember that you can heal yourself with medication, exercise and healthy eating.
3. Along with the medication the doctor suggested for me, i took 'Now Foods Thyroid Energy' supplement as well as Holland and Barretts' "Hair Food". It has zinc, copper, iodine and other stuff that hypothyroidism causes to deplete.
4. I also ate "nori seaweed" 2 sheets everyday which is super rich in iodine.
5. Just avoid cabbage, brocolli, cauliflower and ask the doctor for the food list to avoid.
6. Just start off with a 30 minute stroll, everyday if you are not used to exercising. Then move on to brisk walking for 45 minutes after a few days/weeks. Finally combine your walking with light jogging for 45 minutes, maybe after a month.
7. See if you have a yoga studio close to your home where u can practise some yoga. Sarvangaasana or the Shoulder Stand is amazingly effective to help with hypothyroidism
Trust me, what you have sounds very troubling but it is curable once you get help. So please see a GP/Endocrynologist at the earliest. You will be fine soon and healthier than you have ever been.
Thank you for your feed back I have been to see my doctor many of times and he just says it's my anxiety and my thyroid levels are fine but I have been referred to see endocrinologist in December
You had it right the first time, lol!
Check again #1 in my original reply.
You could be one of millions who were tested and told your thyroid is fine.
I'm not saying it's not, you just have to be 100% certain, because the standard serum tests only indicate circulating levels in the serum, not thyroid function in the cells!!!. (thyroid type 2)
Just in diabetes 2, the pancreas produces insulin, yet there's insulin resistance. Does the doctor say that the patient is not diabetic, because of the circulating insulin levels are fine???
You can also do Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature Test on your own to get a good indication about your thyroid function, as it might be under-regulated.
Just follow the simple online instructions precisely.
Best wishes.
Niko
