siezure brought on by emotional distress

My 3 year old grandson recently started having temper tantrums that have twice resulted in these symptoms:
arched back
eyes rolled back into head
jerking
distorted face
no breathing
no sound
for a duration of 15-30 seconds, then weakness and calming down.  He says he doesn't have a headache or anything like that.  It is hard to tell if he understands what a headache is.  What should I do?

He needs an EEG, and possib;y an MRI. If you have any reason to think this is more than a tantrum, you should have him seen right away by a neurologist.

Hi, It could be the case that hes holding his breath as a direct result of being angry (common behaviour in a three year old) but in respect of the jerking movements I totally agree with myproblem get him checked out . Once a medical cause has been ruled out you may find its a really bad tantrum ( breatholdings common i toddlers which can cause momentary loss of consciouness) but its better to be safe than sorry. Best Of Luck Chris
