sudden pain with bruising in wrist

I have been diagnosed with mod/severe carpal tunnel and was give a 3rd injection in my wrist..the last one was done a little over a week ago..A few days ago, I had a severe burning type pain in my wrist along with redness. There was heat in the hand where it turned bright red.  The bruising showed within a few hours afterwards. What would cause that? As of right now, the bruising is starting to fade but I still have some pain in the wrist along with a couple of fingers..

Hi D....had the same issue and all these shots are is a bandaid for the problem. Tell the dr. You want the surgery that you are tired of the shots not helping and be stern. Surgery is a piece of cake and with physical therapy you will be much better off
Good Luck

It sounds very much like one of your little blood vessels burst.  This is very painful when it happens and will leave a bruise.

for your carpal tunnel problem, wear a support splint to support the wrist and also wear it whilst you are sleeping to support the wrist from bending.
Whilst you have this problem, you need to use the hand as little as possible to allow the condition to lessen.  Sometimes the condition does not improve.

If you do any repetitive work, you should discuss this with your employer with regard to either doing something that does not require constant use of your hands, or discuss possible modifications and use wrist supports if you use a keyboard or even using voice recognition software.

If you continue to use your hand and not make any changes, the condition will worsen to the point you will not be able to use it and may require an operation. to release the pressure on the nerves in the medial compartment.

You may find a cold compress may help in the early stages of this condition.  Avoid using that hand as much as you can and wear the support splints to support the wrist.
