I should add - the veins are no longer as thin as angel hair... more like thick spaghetti at this point. Mondor's results in sclerosis of affected veins, which are gradually reabsorbed by the body
Veins often worst (thickest, most painful) at night. Less pronounced, but still evident in AM, so have been trying to get lots and lots of sleep.
(BP also elevated at night - 140/90 -, in AMs is much closer to historical norm 115-125/78-80)
GP has labeled as Mondor Syndrome/Mondor Disease
Often seen in females following breast surgery. (I am male, no breast surgery, ever).
Believe this is what I had 4 years prior that presented as suspected hernia (direct, not inguinal).
Have read that when Mondor can move down toward the groin / femoral vein and be mistaken for hernia pain.
MRI by hernia specialist found no hernia evidence, but pain had subsided by that point, so it's possible that the thrombosis, sclerosis had
Open question now is : Why is there clotting or phlebitis that is triggering the Mondor's.
Bloodwork by hematologist has not found clotting factors (not all lab work is back, yet).
