too much tylenol?

I have been taking between 6-10 extra strength tylenol everyday for a least a month now. My doctor doesn't seem overly concerned. Should I be concerned about the amount and be seeking another type of pain reliever. Can't take anything with caffiene/codeine in it.Thanks. Shelly

HI Shelly, Sounds like you are still roughing it too.
Ya know, I think you should see a pain specialist who can put you on something that will in the long term be safer than taking tylenol all day long. I know a lot of people freak out about anything labelled as a narcotic. I am not even saying this is what you need. But, if you have chronic pain that needs to be treated all day long there are a lot of different therapies and medications out there. Taking tylenol and ibuprofen etc can sometimes cause liver and kidney troubles. There are other medicines for pain if it is moderate to severe other that codeine. I am allergic to codeine and sensitive to all medicines in this category. I suggest you see a doctor specializing in pain management or a pain clinic. I cannot say whether this is or is not too much. It sometimes depends also on a persons body and how they can process it. HUGS
