uncoordinated

Monday, 6/7, I began experiencing lack of coordination - bumping into furniture, walls, door facings, and tripping over things; also dropping things sometimes, but not as much as bumping into things.  The fronts of my legs are covered with bruises.  It is still occurring, though doesn't seem as severe.  I had begun taking Abilify 5 mg po daily on 6/3, so I'd had only 4 doses when this began.  Yesterday, I also began having palpitations and tachycardia, so have stopped the Abilify.  My psychiatrist is sure the med isn't the reason for the coordination problem.  My neuro exam in the ER yesterday was basically normal, although I didn't really touch my nose, was more between my nose and upper lip; and my legs didn't seem as strong as usual to me.  The SE profile for abilify does mention tachycardia and irregular heartbeat, but not the coordination problem.  Any thoughts?

Is everybody on the Jackson beam today!

Yup. I know at least one person on Abilify who developed these problems. That's just a sample of one, but it convinced me.

I agree.  Don't take that med.  I don't think I would trust that doctor with regards to medication.  To me it would seem that that med caused the problem, unless of course you were bumping into things prior to taking it initially.
I would get a second opinion (and if you don't need the med then I would stay away from it).

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Seizures, loss of co-ordination of muscle movements, cognitive impairment, judgment problems etc all are side effects of Abilify. You should change the drug immediately. I know you have stopped it. Consult another doctor for a different prescription.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
